Kobzová, Tereza
This diploma thesis deals with the relations of the Czech Republic with Argentina, Chile and Uruguay after 2000. The aim is to perform a comparative analysis of the dynamics of foreign trade with an emphasis on the influence of political developments in the monitored countries in the period 2000–2020. The thesis is prepared in the form of a literature search and is primarily based on the analysis of published documents, especially from the official websites of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The work first deals with the countries individually, their political development and mutual relations with the Czech Republic, with an emphasis on foreign trade and political cooperation, especially focusing on important visits by political representatives of both countries and the signing of bilateral agreements. In conclusion, these three Latin American countries are compared and evaluated.
Domácí vzdělávání v České republice a Chilské republice: komparativní studie legislativy, kontrolních postupů ověřující výsledky žáků a motivace rodičů pro domácí vzdělávání
Duchoňová, Denisa
This bachelor thesis deals with comparison of home education in Czechia and Chile. The aim was to compare chosen countries in their legislative framework of home education, in control mechanisms verifying results of this form of education an also to compare motives of parents that led them to choose this alternative for their children. Material for the comparison was obtained from literature research in Czech, English and Spanish. Motives leading parents to choose home education gained from the literature research were addictionally complemented with illustrative case study. Study was realized through semi-structured online video interviews with two female respondents who have direct personal experience with home education of their offsprings. Each respondent represented one chosen country, so the first respondent was from Czechia and the second one from Chile. Answers to the research questions were summarized in the assessment of matches and differences using the classification scale. Average evaluation of all the compared characteristics was evaluated as good, which means that chosen countries are partly matching and partly different in all compared characteristics. The final classification sententiously expresses mutual relations between all compared characteristics, because both compared countries have huge specifics in terms of home education. Both countries also have significant matches, mainly in the area of motives that led parents to choose this form of education for their offsprings where is the biggest match ratio.
Z pouličních protestů do La Monedy: dynamika studentského hnutí v Chile
Kuklová, Michaela
This bachelor theses analyses the rise of student leaders to the leadership position of the country after the 2011 Protests. As for the methods, the literary research method was chosen. The main goal of this theses is to evaluate how did the governments of Chile reacted to the demands of the movements after the 2011 Protests, that culminated in the draft of a new constitutional law. These new laws were supposed to replace the 1980 Chilean Constitution, that was introduced under the government of Augusto Pinochet Ugarte. The first part of the theses introduces the process of implementation of Neoliberal policies in Chile, with focus on the field of tertiary education in connection to the demands of the students during the 2011 Protests. In the second chapter of the theses, the Students Confederation CONFECH is introduced as a key actor as a mediator during these protests together with two selected protagonists of the confederation, who worked their way up to the head of the country´s leadership. Last chapter focuses on the two main events of the political development of Chile after 2019, in which the students played key role: the 2021 Presidential election and the already mentioned Draft of the new Constitution.

The theoretical part deals with Chile's historical context of its economic and political development as well as an introduction to its two most influential political figures of the second half of the 20th century. Hanry Knop, Diana ; Buben, Radek (advisor) ; Křížová, Markéta (referee) ; Gaxie, Daniel (referee)
Three Green Parties from Latin America in Comparative Perspective with Europe. Competition with Left-Wing Parties and Demarcation Strategies PhDr. Diana HANRY KNOP Abstract The Partido Verde from Brazil, the Partido Ecologista from Chile and the Proyecto Sur from Argentina are political parties belonging to the movement of green or ecologist parties. They represent, in each country, new political forces which aim at differentiating themselves through a particular identity, built on the focus on sustainable development and the strong will to do politics in a new fashion. Members of those three political parties believe they are apart from left-wing activists. Nevertheless, they do share similar ideas, regarding societal issues, as well as economic and social questions. These parties appeared in a particular context, influenced by democratic renewal, in connection with civil society activists. They continue to keep strong ties with associations, unions, and artistic movements. Their organisation is based on democratic principles such as pluralism, representativeness and territoriality. However, like their European counterparts, they have trouble applying these principles in actual fact. They also face the issue of monopolized power by party leaders. The Partido Verde, the Partido Ecologista and the Proyecto...
The media image of Chile during Augusto Pinochet's rule in the Czechoslovakian and Czech daily newspapers
Vavřinová, Veronika ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Cebe, Jan (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to find out and describe, how was Chile depictured in Czechoslovakian and Czech daily newspaper during Augusto Pinochet's reign and then since the end of his presidency until his death. Augusto Pinochet got to power in 1973 as one of four members of the military junta that had overthrown socialist president Salvador Allende and his government of the Popular Front. Pinochet had soon become the most influential person in Chile and he had reigned since 1974 as president. Most of the Chileans voted against continuation of his presidency in 1988, and therefore he ended in 1989 as president. He remained an important person that divided Chileans into two groups until the end of his life in 2006. The theoretical part describes mainly the historical and economic development of Chile in the chosen time period. Furthermore it briefly explores Czechoslovakian and Czech history, mainly in order to describe the development of the printed media. The thesis analyses articles in Czechoslovakian daily newspaper Rudé právo, Lidová demokracie and Mladá fronta and then in Czech daily newspaper Právo, Mladá fronta and Hospodářské noviny. Texts from several time periods within years 1973 - 2006 were included into the research sample. These time periods were chosen based on important historical events of...
Czech immigration to Chile in the first half of the 20th century
Klímová, Jana ; Opatrný, Josef (advisor) ; Křížová, Markéta (referee)
Czech immigration to Latin America in the 20th century is relatively well-documented phenomena. Nevertheless it still opens up some areas that invites to detailed research. One of them is the Czech emigration to Chile in the first half of the 20th century. Due to the remoteness of the Chilean Republic immigration developed much later compared to the situation in traditional immigration countries that were mainly Argentina and Brazil. We can say it is the marginal area of the Czech migration although it is possible to find even in this small group of immigrants interesting life stories of Czechs that decided to try their luck in distant South America. This thesis aims to introduce main periods of the Czech immigration to Chile in the first half of the 20th century and to describe the life stories of Czechs who have left a significant legacy in Chilean society. Author also intends to focus on motives of choosing Chile as a final destination, Chilean migration policy in the particular periods and also to development of compatriots' activity in the areas of concentration of Czech citizens. Unfortunately there is not much literature related to this issue and that is why author will primarily derive from the archival sources of Chilean or Czechoslovak origin (Archive of the Czech Ministry of Foreign...
"Musicians or Curiosities?" Czechoslovak All-Girl Band Satanic Girls
Svobodová, Eliška ; Havelková, Tereza (advisor) ; Seidlová, Veronika (referee)
The thesis deals with the Czechoslovakian all-girl band Satanic Girls (in South America performing under the name Las Satánicas), which performed in exile since August 1968. The author, using music and anthropological approaches based on the analysis of interviews (conducted in the period February 2013 - March 2014), press articles, photos, videos and archival materials, describes, analyses and interprets the history of the band. Doing so, the main emphasis is being put on the processes of negotiation. Setting out the thematic line "women - musicians - emigrants", the text observes how the emigration and the constant extreme changes in the cultural environment as well as the managers influenced the musical and visual style of the band. One of the central themes is a permanent, involuntary (and sometimes unconscious) oscillation of the band between being presented as the musicians or as the sexual attractions.
